The Juggle is REAL!

 Happy February!

How are all those new year resolutions going? You still have eleven months to reach those goals- don't give up on any resolutions you set for yourself! One of my goals for this new year was to find a balance between pushing myself in my career, getting in to a healthier routine while taking care of "me" and continuing to be a strong mom and partner- simple, right?! (If I ever figure out how to successfully balance all of this, I'll be sure to let you know!) I often find myself saying "the juggle is REAL". I like to remind myself that these things are not a struggle but rather a juggling of all my blessings- still doesn't make the juggling any easier though!

I figured if I wrote about some of these specific tasks I could hold myself accountable right here within this blog- heck, even writing this blog monthly is a goal I need to be accountable for.  I decided to take a look and create some specific goals for myself and affiliate it with some specific task that hopefully allowed me to achieve my goals. First off is my eating habits. With the push from a couple of my close friends, I joined Weight Watchers.  We all know the gig, it's just a matter of doing it. They are motivating me to track my food. Adding the tracking in conjunction with my shakes allows for easy daily meal planning allowing me to stay on track. The second part of healthy eating motivation for me is exercising. I absolutely love my gym but I was definitely not able to get to the classes and it always got shifted to the back burner when work or family things came up. We took a BIG step, at least for me, in purchasing a Peloton bike and subscription for our house and man am I LOVING it! I LOVE the ease of use and accessibility, I LOVE that I can hop on with my brother who lives on the west coast and we can take Cody Rigsby's pop ride together, I LOVE that when my legs are tired and I can't handle another ride I can take a yoga, boxing or meditation class.  I am LOVING using the app on all my devices throughout the day! My goal is small right now so for the month of February its making sure I get 2-3 workouts in a week. Baby steps!

Another goal was getting more reading time in. I absolutely love to read and I never have enough time for all of the books I want to read! I am trying to stay on track with my book club, even if it's on audible, for my leisurely reading. In addition I'd like to add some personal and professional growth reading and I have already dived in to a couple great reads that I will be sharing with you soon ; ) Another component here is my favorite podcast by none other than my favorite, Brian Buffini. He decided that this year his podcast was going to be renamed to "it's a good life" and I am ALL for it. He made his name in the real estate industry but this podcast delivers such great tips and motivation from various guests and Brian himself and you can apply his wisdom to any industry. I strongly recommend checking this podcast out!

The last goal I'll share today is getting stronger with my social media presence and just going for it with video! I really don't love hearing my own voice- at all- so it has kept me from doing a lot of video. As I have started to incorporate more video into my posts, I am realizing that you can have a lot of fun with it. I have seen a lot of great content from some great realtors out there lately and they are motivating me. I attended a conference last week and someone said it's important to "fail forward" and it really struck me. It doesn't matter if we fail, as long as we continue to move forward. Another quote that stuck with me was "progress not perfection". How we all need to hear this... Every. Single. Day!

If you've slipped from your resolutions, hit the refresh button. It takes time for a new habit. It took time to get to where we are. It's ok if it takes time to get to where we want to be.

xoxo Ashley
